£1825 Raised For MIND in 2020
The team at Streets Heaver have worked hard to continue fundraising for our Charity of the Year, MIND, throughout 2020.
Even amidst a global pandemic, we achieved our biggest fundraising total to date! And now, it’s time to announce our chosen Charity of the Year for 2021.
Before we announce who the Company voted as Charity of the Year for 2021, this is a great opportunity to reflect on the past year.
2020 has been an incredibly tough year for everyone, in particular the many charities who have lost out with the usual fundraising events that couldn’t go ahead. As a Company that takes our Corporate Social Responsibility within the community very seriously, we knew it was important to try our hardest to support those in need.
Fundraising From Home
Throughout the year, staff diversified their fundraising efforts to meet the new restrictions and lockdowns. We hosted virtual quiz nights, socially distanced walks, raffles, fancy dress and so much more! The commitment and ongoing support has been outstanding, given that we’ve been limited to a work from home lifestyle for most of 2020.
Even with the pandemic going on, we still managed to raise a whopping £1,825 for MIND! Smashing our target and fundraising the most money in a year since we have started the Charity of the Year.
A huge thank you to everyone who organised fundraising events, contributed their hard-earned money, or supported each other in this time of need.
Finally, without further ado, it’s time to announce our chosen Charity of the Year for 2021. With a huge 47% of the vote, Streets Heaver’s next Charity of the Year is…
The Lincoln Community Larder!
The Lincoln Community Larder aims to relieve poverty in the Lincoln area. They do this through the provision of basic nutritious food and other basic amenities to those in need of short term help. Run entirely by local volunteers, they also support those suffering from illness or special needs.
This charity is very close to many of our hearts, and many of us have already shown support. Projects Manager, Chelsea Linnecor, recently collected over two trolleys full of donations from Streets Heaver staff to help those at need over the Christmas.
We have seen first-hand how much this charity supports our community. Poverty in the UK is unfortunately on a rise, and to see how many people rely on The Lincoln Larder is extremely sobering. A very worthy cause in this current climate.
We can’t wait to get stuck in with supporting this local charity. The team already have a number of events up our sleeves. Watch this space.
