Streets Heaver Lockdown Awards Celebrate Staff Achievements

Streets Heaver Lockdown Awards

On Thursday 30th July, the team at Streets Heaver hosted a virtual Lockdown Awards night to recognise the continuous hard work that employees have made in recent months.

At the start of the year, no one could have predicted the tremendous lifestyle changes, uncertainty and fear that was about to unfold. The Coronavirus pandemic shook the world, but the staff at Streets Heaver pulled together and demonstrated the greatest resilience in the face of something none of us had yet experienced in our lifetimes.

The company’s ability to adapt to this new normal, support each other thoroughly and whole-heartedly, and continually deliver first-rate customer service is why Commercials Director, Ben Heaver, and several other team members recognised a reason to celebrate.

The hotly anticipated live event was held online, using the internal communication systems of Microsoft Teams and Yammer. The Company has been utilising the latest Microsoft technologies for many years and was fortunate to have been able to use this knowledge when transitioning to the Work-From-Home requirements back in March.

Evening of Fun, Food and Fantastic People

Ahead of the event, every employee received a luxury snack box delivered to their door to enjoy whilst they watched. Lovingly handmade by local business, Grazed by Emma, the boxes came as a welcome surprise to treat the entire household of each valued staff member.

The Streets Heaver Lockdown Awards kicked off with a welcome speech from Ben, who donned black-tie especially for the virtual evening. He explained:

“I don’t think at the beginning of the year we could have planned for anything like this, so we wanted to put something on to thank everyone and recognise all of your contributions to the success we’ve had over the last few months.”

“The message of the night is that we wouldn’t be where we are without you guys, so thank you”

Ben wished all the staff at home a great evening filled with fun, food and celebration before handing over to the Lockdown Awards host, Project Quality Manager, James Powell.

Dressed in a sparkly gold jacket and red bow tie, James lifted spirits with a choice of well-planned dad jokes and occasional off-screen heckles from his young children. He then presented the 11 awards of the night, which consisted of a number of titles that resonated with the Streets Heaver company values.

Staff Recognised for Going Above & Beyond

Employee Awards

‘Best Lockdown Laugh’ was given to Project Analyst, Chelsea Linnecor, for her fantastic creative skills on the #ToiletRollChallenge. The ‘Unsung Lockdown Hero’ was presented to Hana Bott, Office Manager, for her tireless and behind the scenes hard work throughout the recent months. Joint winners, Adam Wilkinson & Barry Finch, were given the title of ‘Home Fires Burning’ having played such a pivotal role in transitioning the entire company into home working.

One of the most anticipated titles of the night, as voted for by the staff, was the Lockdown People’s Choice Award. This recognised the person who had made a significant impact to the Company during the coronavirus pandemic. And this award went to Support Analyst, Marvin Cottam.

Marvin, who is also one of the Streets Heaver Mental Health First Aiders, was nominated by staff for his constant encouraging words, efforts to keep staff engaged, and general good nature. His positivity made a real difference to so many staff members. On being named winner, Marvin remarked:

“I am so chuffed!  Such a shock! It really was a lovely evening and cheered us all up no end.”

The evening concluded with a reminder of how far the Company has come in recent months and excitement for the future as the ‘New Normal’ continues to evolve. During these times of great uncertainty for many, the Lockdown Awards were hailed by all the team as a welcome break from what is happening in the world.
